There are few biological flora species in the park, yet with a large ratio of endemic species in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and a large quantity. Tibetan antelope, wild yak, Mongolian gazelle, and kiang are rare animals.

Wild Yak

Wild yak is the wild congener of domestic yak and has strong limbs and long hair covering the body. Its hair on the thorax and abdomen almost touches the ground and can keep out wind and rain. There are meat teeth on the tongue of wild yak. As a result, wild yak is brave and battlewise. Wild yak is a typical alpine animal, extremely cold-resistant and unique to Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It lives in the alpine meadow at an altitude of 3,000~6,000m, and falls into national first class protected animals.

Tibetan Antelope

Tibetan antelope is a typical wild animal in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, known as "pride of Hoh Xil" and listed as endangered species in the International Trade Conventions Regarding Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora.

Kiang

Kiang is the one of onagers with the biggest bodily form whose average shoulder height is 140cm and shape similar to that of Mongolian wild ass. It habitats in the zone at an altitude of 3,600m-5,400m and is extremely tolerant.

Snow Leopard

Snow leopard is an important big cat predator and flagship species for living in high mountains near snow line and between snowfields. Its fur is grayish white with block spot and black ring and tail is long and big; therefore, it is known as "king of the snow mountain".

Brown Bear

Brown bear is also called as grizzly bear. It is a carnivore mammal with the biggest bodily form in the land with a length of 1.5-2.8m and a shoulder height of 0.9-1.5m. Male brown bear is 90-800kg and female brown bear 80-250kg. Brown bear has a big and round head and is strong and muscular with raised shoulder and back. Dorsal seta is thick and dense in different colors, such as golden, brown, black and brownish black. Brown bears mainly inhabit the taiga.

Argali

Ovis ammon is also called argali and bighorn and one kind of wild sheep living in Central Asia plateau. Male ovis ammon has a shoulder height of 120cm and a weight of 200kg. Ovis ammon is a kind of the largest sheep. The hair of ovis ammon ranges from white to gray with thorax and abdomen hair being light color. Some male ovis ammons have thick and big cavels over 1m long and twisty downward and helical with a ring rib outside. Female ovis ammons have very short cavels slightly bent.
