What is ophiolite suite?
Ophiolite suite refers to a group of srite formed by serpentinization ultramafite, basic intrusive complex, basic lava and oceanic sediment, is formed after deterioration of oceanic crust material in the collision contact zone resulting from high temperature at the moment of collision between two plates and is a typical product of the plate suture zone.
A set of Ordovician-silurian ophiolite suite is found in the northern tributary ditch in Wild Yak Valley of Mount Kunlun Global Geopark-Mocao ditch and it can be proved that plate collision happened in the park in the mid-Paleozoic Era-early stage of Late Paleozoic Era based on radiometric dating.
